FAITH IN ACTION - RECOGNITION PROGRAM
Beginning in 2020 as part of our Faith In Action program, the council present all First Communion recipients a Picture Book of Saints.
Those in our RCIA and Nazareth Programs who received First Communion also receive the same gift.
This is a new tradition for us. In the past we presented a set of rosary beads to all those receiving First Communion. Both gifts were made in the hopes these little ones continue to grow in their faith journey.
In the past, knights at Our Lady of Grace distributed a Solidarity Cross to all those receiving the sacrament of Confirmation at Our Lady of Grace, either through Faith Formation, RCIA or our Nazareth Program.
Money from the purchase of the crosses goes directly to support Christian Relief efforts in the Middle East.
Beginning in 2020 as part of our Faith In Action program, the council present a Daily Meditations with the Holy Spirit to all those receiving confirmatiom at Our Lady of Grace parish.
Beginning in 2019, as part of our Faith In Action program, the council presents a Daily Companion for Married Couples to all those newly weds who have been married in Our Lady of Grace parish.
Our prayer is that they will grow in love with each other as well as their faith.
Our Food For Families program is a year round program. Please contact Tony Salerno by using our contact link below for information on how you can assist us in continuing to provide food for those in need, or simply clicking on his name.
A "Drive Through Food Collection" is scheduled monthly. Our next Food Collection is scheduled for Saturday, October 5, 2024 between 10 am and 12 noon. Contact Chairman Tony Salerno at 203-615-1932 with any questions as well as any monetary donations. We thank you in advance for your support.
Meal Planning
Meal planning may seem like a chore to some. In my house it is because everyone has different tastes. Add to that the fact that we're on a budget and it may seem like more of a chore than a joy to provide meals everyone will enjoy, and my wife will spend the time to check the pantry to see what's already in the house before one of us goes grocery shopping.
But there are many families who don't have the ability to make selections based on what they've budgeted and find they need to rely on the kindness of others to provide food they can use to create meals for their families. They're not deciding if their food is non GMO or organically grown. They're wondering where the next meal for their family will come from.
Thanks to the generosity of people in our parish, the knights have collected and distributed, provided by your kindness, over 14,4182 lbs. of food to local food banks during the past two Fraternal Years. We can't thank you enough.
During 2023-2024 Fraternal Year alone, over 7,203 lbs. were delivered to local food banks as well as $7,550 in store food cards to Our Lady of Grace parish.
